One thing I love about the Whole 30 is that you can still have burgers, just as long as you have it in a lettuce wrap. This concept saves me a lot when I am going out to dinner and there is nothing on the restaurant menu. I know I can always go to the burger section and customize a meal easily there. What happens though when you are sick of having your burger lettuce wrapped and you still want a delicious burger? Well, that is where a yummy YAM burger comes in to play. When I first did the Whole 30 in 2015, this was probably one of the first recipes that I attempted and fell in love with. It also pairs well with that Whole 30 Chicken Spinach Burger recipe I just recently posted, and you can view here. I hope you enjoy this recipe and if you try it, please comment below and let me know what you think.

Whole 30 Yam Chicken Burgers
Ingredients:
- 3 Large Yams (When you are at the store make sure you really get some thick yams, thick enough to think as them as a bun replacement.)
- 2 Tablespoons of Coconut Oil, melted
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Whole 30 approved burger ingredients:
- Lettuce
- Tomato
- Onion
- Mustard
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
- Wash and scrub all yams.
- Slice the largest part of the yam, as if they were very large medallions.
- Get a baking sheet and place parchment paper down. Lay yams evenly apart on paper.
- Brush melted coconut oil on the front and back of the yam and season with salt and pepper.
- Place in oven and bake for 20 minutes.
- Take out of oven and flip all of the burgers to the opposite side. Place back in oven and cook for another 15 minutes.
- Pull out of oven and let cool.
- Start building your burger with all your favorite toppings with the yams as the buns.
- Enjoy!
