After receiving my Hashimoto’s diagnosis and with all of the reading and research I have done regarding my health and changing my lifestyle to help heal myself, I knew it was best if I decided to become Gluten Free. When I first decided on this venture, I thought I was going to have to give up some of my favorite things like pasta, cake, waffles or cookies. I’m human, so I would be lying if I wasn’t a little sad about this, at least until I found out about Meli’s Monster Cookies.
Meli’s Monster Cookies is an amazing, accidentally gluten-free brand, derived from a family recipe that was passed down from generation to generation. Upon hearing about the brand, I was expecting another gluten-free cookie that promised to fulfill that cookie craving but fell short. BOY, was I wrong! These cookies could not be farther from that description – they actually make you forget that they are gluten free and really, your only thought is if it would be bad if you consumed all 16 of them! I actually decided to test them on my family and take these cookies to our Thanksgiving Dinner.
I made an entire box of the “Original” and the “Choco-Lot” flavors which made 32 cookies in total. I thought I made enough for my family to taste them and for them to take some home with them. By the end of the night, all the cookies were gone and my family was picking the crumbs off the serving tray. They raved about the cookies and were SHOCKED that they were gluten free. These cookies are seriously delicious and definitely taste like a homemade recipe, passed down through generations. I told my family that I will be making these cookies for our Christmas dinner and have also decided to give them out as Christmas presents.
